Practice makes perfect!

I'm eagerly awaiting my lesson today from The Cut Above class, the lessons normally "go live" for us in the UK after lunch, so whilst I still had my ironing board out and I really did need to make a card for a friend, I made this little beauty this morning..........

I wish I hadn't drawn in the faux stitching on the cut edge of the heart, but otherwise I'm really pleased with it.  This card again, was made from everything in my "scraps" box, so I'm even more pleased with my little self ;) !!!
All card stock and fabric is from Stampin' Up!

Have a great day everyone and thanks for looking at my blog today.

Part 2, Day 3 - A Cut Above

I made three cards after being inspired to create yesterday by the lesson, which was all about what else we could cut with our Silhouette's.

When I bought my machine more than 6 months ago, I also purchased the kit to be able to cut out material and this was it's first outing!

I loved making these cards, even though I had to make friends again with my ironing board - LOL!!!

I'm so pleased I bought that Stampin' Up fabric now - another unused item in my stash, now being loved and used ;) !

Happy Saturday.

Part 1 - Day 6 A Cut Above

Time got ahead of me last week and I didn't get round to photographing and blogging the card I made for our "embossing" folders day, so here it is......

I used two different embossing folders for this card.

This card was also entirely made from scraps found in my scraps box!  The sentiment comes from Party This Way by Stampin' up, as does the card and papers.  I used my Silhouette to cut out the clouds and balloons.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Part 2, Day 2 - A Cut Above

I am really enjoying this on-line class, today we were making cards out of shapes on our Silhouette's.  I downloaded this lovely birdhouse shape from Silhouette America, along with this lovely swirly bird to make a new home card.

I hope you like it.

Happy crafting.

A cut above

Carrying on with my theme of using what I've got (and not buying more!), I made this lovely card today......

It was inspired by a new class I am doing on-line, check it out here.

It was day 3 of the class yesterday and Shari Carroll was the guest designer.  She used one of Tim Holtz's Alterations dies, I didn't have the one she used but I do own this one which is called "Ornamental".  I also had the set of mini heart dies to go with it, so that was lucky.

The background stamp used was from a Hero Arts set called "Speckled Ornaments", which I bought after seeing another card made by Shari a year or two ago.

The sentiment stamp comes from the set called "Huge Hugs" again from Hero Arts.

I used Crumb Cake and Real Red ink from Stampin' Up and embossed the heart inside, using the embossing folder called "Vintage Wallpaper" again from Stampin' Up.

All these products will be available for my ladies to borrow on Saturday at my Crop in Chilton.

Have a lovely weekend and happy crafting.

Using what I've got!

I found making this card absolutely liberating!

Whilst being a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I hardly ever used supplies and stamps that I already owned and I never used "freebie" paper from a magazine!

A friend came over last Saturday to craft for a while and we decided to make a card using a spring theme.

It was totally liberating to realise that we could use some papers I'd got free from a magazine a couple of months ago, that were actually heading for my "give away" pile of supplies.  The colours were just perfect for what we wanted, take a look.................

........the flower and leaves were cut from files from the Silhouette website.

Hope you manage to enjoy some crafting time soon.

Down by the sea

I'm back!!!

Life has been busy, I've been doing more of what I want to do and caught up a bit with my life!  I've taken some time out to catch up, I'm not quite there yet, but I will get caught up very soon and hopefully my blogging will return to me be able to share with you all at least a card a week soon.

For now though, I've been playing with my Silhouette again and came up with this card today.....

.........for a male birthday in our family.

The cutting files were downloaded from the Silhouette website.  I ran the main image through my Xyron 510 machine and was able to ink the image with my Tim Holtz blending tool and Stampin' Up inks in So Saffron, Pool Party, Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy, whilst the image was stuck to the base sheet.  The anchor and the mat were cut out on Night of Navy CS from Stampin' Up and the mat was edged with the Scallop Border Punch from Stampin' Up too!

Enjoy and happy crafting.
