His & Hers - Day 1

Hello Friends,

Oh what a stressful couple of days I've had!  Thank goodness those lovely ladies over at On-line card classes have a new class starting today and thank goodness I booked my seat, right here on the front row!

The class is all about his and her cards and I'm hoping to make a his and her card each day this week, with supplies I have here, without buying anything new!

The first card here is my "her" card of the day.....

I used this old Hero Arts stamp, I can't imagine how many years I've had it, but I've never used it in this way, and am so pleased to have taken this class which inspired me to do so.

This is my "his" card of the day, I actually made this one first, as I thought it would take a long time to come up with a card for a gent, but it really wasn't all that hard when I followed  the ideas given in class.

I mixed up the sentiment from two different sets, which was also mentioned in class today.

I thought the use of stars for a man was a little better than hearts or flowers and I've had this star punch for I don't know how long either!

I'm so much happier now I've crafted, oh and played Neil Diamond all day - quite loud!

I'd encourage anyone to take this class, just click on the link in my side bar.

Happy crafting.

A special picture for a special lady!

Hello Friends,

I attended Quaker worship in Abingdon again yesterday morning.  My pain was playing me up and I hesitated about going but it was a special week and I really wanted to support the speaker this week.  Our meeting is going to have a speaker on the 3rd Sunday of the month for the next few months and those speakers are going to tell us about their own spiritual journey.  Yesterday a lovely lady spoke of her journey and she moved me to make something for her.  I didn't want to make a card but something a little more substantial so that she could keep it for a while, so I made her this little fridge picture........

It is really simply made, just a piece of hardboard covered with a nice piece of Primrose Petals Co-ordinations card stock from Stampin' Up.  The sentiment was one I typed and cut using the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo, which I delicately stamped with a stamp I made using my carpet underlay, using Primrose Petals ink.

There are plenty of magnets on the back of this, as it turned out to be quite heavy!

Hope you all have a peaceful and creative week.

A card for Peg

Hello Friends,

I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  It's my friend Peg's birthday today and I made her this joke card.  I was surfing for something on Google images and saw this cute image.  I love how the sweet girls eyes are looking like she is wowed by her own stamping and thought she could be me stamping happily away!

I made the card with just bits and pieces cut and left over from lost months crop, as there were plenty of them on my desk at the time!  I used my trusty Silhouette Cameo for the sentiment.  I used the pen nib holder instead of the blade to write "Wow" and "look"!  The colours don't really go together, but that's half of the funny side of the card.  I can't show you the inside, where it is really funny - but I'm sure Peg will appreciate it!

Hope you find some time to craft this weekend.

Far and Away - Teresa Collins

Hello Friends,

I'm back with a card a made last week, which should have been in the post last week too!  It's my DH's nephew's birthday today and we've just post it - whoops!  He lives in France and I needed to take it to the post office to get it weighed and measured, which is why it has been posted late.

I decided on another double slider card, I'm just lovin' them!  I can't stop making them, it's funny how we go through stages in our creativity.  This time I used my Far and Away stamp set by Teresa Collins, I love the stamp that says "DESTINATION", with a box to fill with one of the appropriate stamps in the set.  This time, I chose "good times", I think it will suit the young man in mind.

The card stock and ink are by Stampin' Up, as are the sentiment stamps stamped on the slider parts.

I hope he likes it and I hope you enjoy some crafting very soon.

Stamping gear - 8 x 8 Scrapbook page

Hello Friends,

I'm so excited, I've just made this 8 x 8 scrapbook page background.....

I put my handmade little gear in the top left hand corner and stamped around that, making just a quarter of a circle of images in that corner and then I used one of my paper tearing rulers and part of my handmade stamping gear system to get a fairly accurate pattern along the bottom edge of my page.

I'm just lovin' it!

These stars are from a retired stamp set (I think) from Stampin' Up, which I stamped in VersaMark and applied some perfect pearls powder over the top.

All to be shared at my next workshop!

Enjoy the sunshine, it's beautiful here this afternoon.

I can't wait to share with "my ladies" how I made this at my Crop on 27th April.  It's easy and amazing!

Hope you like it.

Silhouette Cameo & Stamping Gear!

Hello Friends,

I've been playing hard today (for a change!).  I saw the Inkadinkado stamping gear system on Create & Craft TV this morning and thought it was a great piece of kit!  Immediately, I thought I could come up with a system similar using my Silhouette Cameo and it worked!

Here is my first proper card......

.....it isn't perfectly stamped, but near enough when you think I've saved a fortune!  I will be sharing how to make this card at the end of the month at my Crop, so if you haven't booked your place yet, please email me asap.

Enjoy your day and happy crafting.

Altered Art - 52 Pickup class - round 2

Hello Friends,

Something a little different for you to see here today.  I'm going to show you a little bit of art I've made inspired by the lovely Stephanie Ackerman.

I've been following her for quite a few years now, her art makes me feel so happy and in my view, to keep her producing such inspiring and lovely art I need to keep taking the occasional class with her!  I joined her latest class a little while ago but hadn't actually gotten round to producing much (shame on me!).  But I'm happy to pay even if I don't produce much, to keep her at it (wink, wink)!

Her latest class is very inspiring, we are altering ordinary playing cards.  The class details are all here, so check it out for yourselves and try something new.

Here are a few photos of what I've been up to....

 Just ordinary playing cards.......
 A little Gesso.........
A little Gelli Art.....
A bit of stamping and sticking......
 More sticking/eyeletting/inking/glossy accenting.....
 more stamping and sticking......

All this made me much happier today, thanks to Stephanie Ackerman - you can click on her link in my sidebar - Hospitality Homegrown!

You just gotta love her!

Enjoy something different..........go play.

New home card

Good morning Friends,

I set myself a little task this morning, which was to make two cards in 10 minutes with bits and pieces I had hanging around, left overs, you could call them from other cards.  I made a card for a friend who's birthday it is on Saturday, it was a total copy of another one on here, so there was no need to photograph that one and the other one I made was this one...........

It's a card for a friend who has just separated from her husband and moved into a new home.  I'd been wanting to make a card for her for more than 2 weeks but with my aches and pains and lack of inspiration it just didn't happen!

Setting myself the goal this morning of making two cards in 10 mins was just what I needed.  I rushed to look for a "new home" stamp but found a really old set of mine containing the sentiments you see on the card, which I thought would be much more fun and very appropriate!

At times like these a friend really needs to make sure her friend has all the essentials!

Why don't you set yourself a goal and make those cards that need to be made in 10 mins!

Have fun with it.
