Hello Friends,
It supposed to be my busiest day of the month and what am I doing? Hmmmm, some of you know me, don't you! I've been playing! I'm totally caught up in this great Online Card Class, I just have to make something every day, if I can, whilst it's live!
Today we were learning about using freezer paper for masking. To be totally honest, it doesn't seem to have worked well for me. I don't think I have the correct stuff :(! I've tried glassine paper and waxed food paper, but neither worked for me today!
So in my haste to make something and to get very similar results, I used a very old technique. I clear embossed the leaves image with clear embossing powder, did all the stamping and then covered the image with copier paper and ironed off the embossing powder from my artwork - phew!
I water colored the background first, but it wasn't great and as I'd messed around for far too long today (my busiest day of the month), I decided to use my ink blending tool and blend ink all over to cover up a pretty blotchy background!
I went for a very quick and simple mount, for my card!
Got to dash, I've got 18 crafty ladies to entertain tomorrow ;)!
Have a happy and crafty weekend.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card. :) Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWell, it goes to show you there are more than one way to create a card. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use embossing powder! Same concept really--wax on, wax off!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! No apologies about method, you were just one day ahead of class. Your classes sound like so much fun. If I wasn't an ocean away, I would surely be there.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful soft colors and design Carole.
