Acetate card

This is a card made from inspiration gained yesterday from the on-line card class, "Stretch your Stamps".  I have made acetate cards before, but not for a long while so thought I'd have a go as I really liked the idea of the long flags down the side which hides the glue nicely when sticking in the insert.


Midnight Blue Stazon ink comes out pretty close to Stampin' Up's Island Indigo when stamped onto acetate, so I teamed that up using the ink for the sentiment and the card stock for the flags.

The stamp is French Filigree from Stampin Up and the pearls and diamonds are from my stash.

Stretch your stamps

Hello again,

Two posts in one day!  I am watching the Olympic torch relay today and am quite nervous, as one of my friends son's is running with the torch.  So whilst the torch is making its way to Oxford I thought I'd post the first card inspired by Jennifer and Kristina over at the On-line card classes class called "Stretch your Stamps".

As I had the colours and the background stamp out from the card posted earlier I decided to use them again for this card.........

One of the cards in class today was piecing together hexagons which had been stamped onto two different colours which had both been stamped with the same background stamp and pieced together.

I took the inspiration for this card from that lesson and have cut out this design using my Silhouette Cameo.  I cut the design out twice and filled the negative space of the kraft one I cut out, with the little hexagons in each of the colours.  The white ones (stamped in Crumb Cake) and the Kraft ones stamped and embossed with white embossing powder.

I now have all the pieces to make a card in the opposite colour combination too.

Birthday swing card

Hi all,

Just a quick card to show you today.  I went to the Art Stamps craft show at Newbury over the weekend and found this wonderful kraft card stock, which I absolutely love.

I found myself chatting to another lady who said it cut well on her Silhouette Cameo, so I bought some to try and this is the result...........

I used Stampin' Up's Crumb Cake ink to stamp the background stamp, which is from Hero Arts.  The flowers were cut using my Silhouette Cameo, the butterflies are from my Martha Steward punch and the sentiment and punched mats are all by Stampin' Up.

Silhouette Cameo Swing Card

Hello everyone,

My lovely neighbour Margaret, has lived opposite me for the last 25 years and I feel desperately sad that she is moving away very soon.  I have made her this lovely little card using my Silhouette Cameo and one of the swing card download options from the Silhouette America site.

I photographed it next to the beautiful flowers my friends Mary and Chris bought over last night from their garden, when they joined us for dinner.

This is a picture taken from the side so that you can see the "swing" in action.....

I used Stampin' Up card stock and papers and the stamp came from a set from Inkylicious.  I think the set is called "flight of dreams".

My scrapbooking crop

Hi everyone,

I have been struggling with my old creaking joints again, but I'm back with great news.

My monthly scrapbooking crop is moving back to Abingdon from next month, which is going to really help my aching arms and shoulders.  I have found us a completely new home, it is the Abingdon Resource and Wellbeing Centre, which has much better tables and chairs for us to use.

The tables are all on wheels, so that is "wheelie" good, none of us will have to lift or carry a table again!

I wasn't actually looking to move, we have been fairly happy at Chilton Village Hall, but  when I stumbled across the lovely hall in Abingdon I couldn't resist checking it out to see if I was able to hire it.

So our new look crop will be held on 21st July from 9.30 - 4.00, email me if you would like further details.

In the mean time, I thought I'd share some photos of us in our old hall having lots of fun........

So I have to say thank you and farewell to Chilton, and hello to Abingdon, where I hope we will have lots more fun.
