Silver Wedding Card - Cameo Silhouette

Hello Friends,

Firstly I'd like to welcome my new follower....Charmaine - thanks for joining me, I really appreciate having another lovely follower.

I know it's been a while since I posted but I've been re-organising my stash again ;)!  I definitely spend more time organising my stash than I do making wonderful projects from it!  Hopefully, this time, it will stay tidy as I have some lovely new storage furniture for my craft room.  When the work on my craft room is finished, I'll perhaps post some piccies for you to see.

On to today's card......

I made this by adapting a Silhouette cutting file, the original was wider and had 30 hearts on the front, which was great, but as a challenge I adapted it to cut me 25 hearts for this Silver Wedding card to send our friends, who will be partying this weekend.  Unfortunately we are unable to attend, as I'm busy with something else, but at least I will be thinking of them.

Hope you like it.

Happy crafting.

Summer Card Camp 2 - Week 1 - Day 4

Hello Friends,

I was so pleased with the lessons today over at Summer Card Camp 2.  I'm busy, I've got 4 lovely ladies coming over for a Silhouette Cameo class on Saturday and I need to get my house in order!  Now, I'm not one to make excuses, so my home will be clean and my class homework will by up-to-date!  So today's challenge was to make a card in 10 mins - perfect!

The lovely Kristina suggested using our die cutting equipment to make things quick!  I thought, for a moment, that I would be at a disadvantage using my Silhouette Cameo, but of course I wasn't, it's was super quick, once I decided I was going to use a butterfly image, one I'd had from the on-line store for quite a while!

Here is my beautiful and simple card....

...and here is the inside....

I hadn't thought I'd have time in just ten mins to stamp the inside, but as the stamp was out any way it only took seconds!

Here is a screen shot from my Silhouette Studio....

...it was easy to make the base card, I just sized my butterfly and mirrored the image above, selected it and moved down just a couple of clicks on my down arrow, which was enough to weld both into a card shape.  I did an internal offset of the original butterfly to make the mat on the front and whilst I was at it, I made a copy for the inside!  You can see from the screen shot above I was able to cut all the pieces at once - it took moments!

Whilst my Cameo was doing the cutting I was punching the leaf, flower and mat for the sentiment.  I also stamped the sentiment before I took the images off my mat.

I stuck it all together and finished the card in a record time of 8.39 mins!

Of course I will save my workings in the Silhouette Software so that I can make another card even quicker next time!

Right, I need to tidy my desk, clear my dining room table and get my computer and Silhouette Cameo down there ready for Saturday!

Happy crafting.

Summer Card Camp 2 - Week 1, Day 3

Hello Friends,

I finished this card far too late last night to photograph it, but it's here for you to see now.......

The inspiration for this card came from Mariana, who is one of the lovely teachers this week over at On-line Card Classes.  She used pinwheels and pricked some holes in card stock, but as I'd seen Vellum used earlier in the week by Kristina, I chose to use that.  The pricked holes looked too small and insignificant, so I stitched them!

Enjoy!

Summer Card Camp 2 - Silhouette Cameo

Hello Friends,

I'm back today to share a card I've just made using inspiration from other cards in the gallery at the Summer Card Camp 2 Online Card Class.

Not only do we get great tuition we are able to share our makes with our fellow students, which gives us even more inspiration - nothing could be better :) !

You really should join in the fun.

Happy crafting.

Summer Card Camp 2 - Day 2, Week 1 (take 2)

Hello Friends,

I'm back with the card I messed up earlier, it's had a whole re-vamp!

I messed up stamping the flower on the right hand side of the card, so I chopped it off and added a sheet of acetate.  For the inside I stuck a piece of DSP over the adhesive.

I almost like this card better than the last one....that's how it works out sometimes, we call them happy accidents ;)!

Thanks for popping by my blog today, there is still time if you want to join this class, just click on the link on my sidebar.

Summer Card Camp 2 - Day 2, Week 1

Hello Friends,

You should see my crafting space - it's shocking!!!  I am really surprised to be posting a card today as I messed up the first card I was making and decided to "down tools"!  I sat in the sunshine enjoying a nice glass of white, calmed myself down and started again.  This is the card I made after the super inspiration from the class I enjoyed today.....

To keep in line with the class rules, I used the same colour combination as yesterday's card, adding Always Artichoke ink for the leaves and stem of the flower and Melon Mambo for the flower head.  We were shown a great way to ink up a stamp in different colours today, which is much easier than using markers!

I cut a hexagon stencil using Silhouette Stencil vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo, which I can use over and over again.

Hope you find some time to craft soon.

Summer Card Camp 2 - Day 1

Hello Friends,

I have been looking forward to this day for a long time because the new On-line Card Classes class started ;)!

We have been shown three sketches and a colour combo to start with......here is my first card......

....it is really simple, but I quite like it.  I knew whatever inspiration was given today, I'd make my card for a man, as I have to make one anyway to pop in the post tomorrow - no pressure!

I'm not sure if' I would have actually chosen these colours for a man, but who says men don't like bright summery colours?

I used my Silhouette software to plan the whole card, draw the dotted lines and cut all the bits - so easy!

The colours I used were Summer Star Fruit, Peach Parfait, Tempting Turquoise & Whisper White, all from Stampin' Up.

Please leave me a comment if you like it - thanks.

Happy crafting.

Gorgeous Grunge & Silhouette Cameo

Hello Friends,

I was going to go off to the craft show at Newbury Race course today, but instead I decided to stay home and craft with what I have.  Lately, I've been looking and buying more, than actually crafting so I set about changing that this morning.  Here are a couple of cards I made....

As you will see, these two cards are two completely different styles, but actually I made the two of them with just one cut file from my Silhouette Cameo!

Making the two cards at the same time gave me plenty of drying time, which was needed for the second card. The inspiration for the second card came from this blog post, which I came across this morning!

I do have some Distress Inks, but they are stashed away and as I'm a nervous crafter I decided to use my old Stampin' Up pastels to colour the background, which can easily be rubbed away, as if like magic.  I also  have some of Rangers Glue and Seal, but as my Mod Podge was closer to hand so I used that to stick my flowers, before I applied the Gesso.

I used some of my original Stampin' Up markers to add colour to the flowers, Almost Amethyst for the flower heads and Sage Shadow for the leaves and stalks, but then I had to highlight them with Always Artichoke!

You can see on the background of both cards I stamped images from the Stampin' Up set called Gorgeous Grunge.  I used Always Artichoke for the first card and for the second I used Versa Mark and dabbed over Lovely Lilac pastel!

I hope you like me cards, let me know what you think and which you like the best.

Have a great afternoon, I'm off to watch the tennis!

Embossing Diffuser & Best of Flowers - Stampin' Up

Hi Friends,

I've had a little delivery......in that delivery was the stamp set called Best of Flowers, which is to celebrate 25 years of Stampin' Up.

Whilst watching the tennis this afternoon, I made this little masterpiece using it.....

I used Rose Red, & Naturals White card stock for the card and mats, I use Stampin Up's Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack & Ovals Collection Framelits, which are just perfect to prick, the sentiment is from a new Stampin' Up set called Sweet Essentials and I used Stazon ink to stamp the flower and water coloured the image using the ink from my ink pads - Pretty in Pink, Rose Red & Gumball Green.

Hope you are all enjoying the weather....I'm off to pop on the BBQ!

Happy crafting.
