Silhouette Halloween Treat holder with Silhouette Rhinestones

Hello Friends,

This is the last leg of my Silhouette UK Design Team, Rhinestone marathon.

For this last leg, I'm sharing a Halloween Treat holder, one that I purchased from the Silhouette Design store, which I "blinged" up ;)!

This first photograph shows the actual file that I downloaded from the store....

...and this second image is a picture of the reverse side of the treat holder, the one I decided to "bling"!

The files and products you'd need to make this little treat holder are:

Pumpkin Box
Boo
Bat

Rhinestones and associated supplies.

I hope you've all enjoyed my Silhouette Rhinestone projects.

I'm sure there will be more.....

Today I start a brand new On-line Card Class, it's all about different water colour mediums.....you might want to check back to see if I can manage any of my homework!

Thanks for popping by today and thanks for following along with all my DT projects, designed and made for Silhouette UK.

Silhouette Pillow Box Treat pouch & Silhouette Rhinestones

Hello Friends,

Today there are only three little Silhouette Rhinestones on my project.....

I thought the three little Rhinestones finished off this project nicely.  For the pouch, I adapted a file I had purchased from the Silhouette Design store.

To give you an idea of how big this little pouch is, there are two of those chocolate mints in that little cellophane bag, you know the ones, you have to eat them after 20:00 hrs!

Just a quick post today, I've got so much tidying up to do!

Happy Silhouetting.

Silhouette Rhinestone birthday card

Hello Friends,

My "little one" is 26 today!  Here is a picture of the card I've sent her.......

I've used Silhouette Rhinestones again ;)!  Rather than fill each of the the Rhinestone holes, I made for the frame, with actual Rhinestones, I filled them with glitter!  Very quick and easy, also a great idea when you are running out of your favourite colours of Rhinestones, or you are running out of time to sit and set your Rhinestones ;)!

The card was quick and easy to make and even though it is a card using Silhouette Rhinestones, I'm not counting this card as part of my Rhinestone marathon!

Hope you get some time to play with your Silhouette machine today.

Silhouette Rhinestones & Silhouette Print and Cut

Hello Friends,

On this next leg of my Rhinestone marathon, I've used a Dragonfly image that I downloaded from the Silhouette Design store on a hessian bag.

My remit from Silhouette UK was to "bling up anything"!  If you have been following my blog for a while, you'll probably be aware that I'm a strictly "papercrafting" type of girl, so "blinging up anything" was scary and right out of my comfort zone!

You will have seen in my post from the day before yesterday, that I did manage to "bling up" a make-up bag, but I cheated (a bit), I attached the rhinestones with Multi-Matt Medium from Ranger.  It was also pretty difficult and fiddly), I had to find a book (set of small books actually) to fill the bag with which did just about hold it steady and firm for me to carefully attached the bling!

So with complete trepidation, knowing that I had only once chance to get this project right, I set about "blinging up" my hessian bag!

I thought I'd share a couple of working photos for you to see, in this post, so to explain some of the tasks involved with Rhinestoning (don't think that's a word)!

On this first picture you can see that I've selected and cut out several Rhinestone images on the Rhinestone template material.  I've attached this cut out sheet onto the Rhinestone Backing Board, which makes it really stable and very easy to work with.  There are a couple of sheets of each in the Rhinestone Starter kit.

On this next picture you can see the tool that is included in the kit, which you swipe across the Rhinestone and as if by magic the Rhinestones (mostly) end up the right way round in the holes.

Some of holes do get missed, so I used my Silhouette "Pickmeup" tool to pick up extra Rhinestone and place them in the missing gaps.

When you've filled your image with your Silhouette Rhinestones you use the special Rhinestone transfer tape (also included in the starter kit) to pick up all the Rhinestones ready to transfer them onto your project.  I'm sorry I don't have a picture of that bit, I needed both hands and had to lift them gently to get them all!

I laid transfer the tape onto my bag gently, covered it with one of my husbands (clean) white hankies and ironed all those little Rhinestones on!  It worked like a dream, so much quicker to iron them on like that.

I let the glue cool down slightly before removing the transfer tape, which came off really easily and I've saved it back onto the backing sheet, as I'm sure it will work for at least one more transfer.

So without further ado, here's my finished bag and a couple of matching extras.....

Doing this project has given me the confidence to "bling up" more things, I'm sure now that when I'm out and about I'll be looking for things to "bling"!

For the matching tag and card, I used the same file, but this time I was able to "Scale" the size of the Rhinestone pattern down, which you can't do if you are going to use the Rhinestone image for actual "Rhinestoning"!  I scaled the Dragonfly down and used the "Print & Cut" feature in the Silhouette software.  I filled the scaled down design with a patterned paper, printed it off onto a nice sheet of white card and then cut out the scalloped shape around it.  I then used my pen tool in my Silhouette Cameo for the sentiment and a couple of rubber stamps and matching ink, to make the background more interesting.

Here are some of the links you'll need if you plan on trying out for yourself what I've made:

Rhinestone Starter Kit
Pickmeup tool

Rhinestone Dragonfly
Artisans Nesting Rectangle

Phew, that really was another "marathon", a marathon post within my marathon Rhinestone Silhouette UK event!

Hope you get some time to try out some new ideas using your Silhouette machine soon!

Happy Silhouetting and thanks for popping by.

Silhouette Cameo Mini Album with Quotes & Rhinestones

Hello Friends,

I promised you all yesterday that I'd share with you a little mini-album I've made for Silhouette UK.  I'd seen a few mini albums around like the one I've made but felt I wanted to add a curved effect, which I think has turned out pretty smart!

Keeping it simple, inside I made little pockets using one of the knife features in the Designer Edition of the Silhouette software.  You can see that the tops of the pockets have what Silhouette call a "square knife cut" design.  I think the tops look like the tops of walls on castles!

It was fun making that pocket on the right side, I decided to angle it to make it look a little different and easier to hold a tag....

I made all the tags, even though I could have easily and very cheaply purchased some from the Silhouette Design store but, I find most of the fun for me these days, is playing around with all the features Silhouette offer, making my own simple designs.   I used the Ellipse tool to make the slim oval tag and a few different techniques within the software to make the other tags.  I downloaded the quotes you see on the tags, from the Silhouette Design store, which I drew using a pen tool in stead of a blade in my Silhouette Cameo.

To finish my little album off I made a simple belly band, by cutting a strip of black card on my trimmer (yes you did read that right, a paper trimmer!), which I decorated with the flower and leaf decorated with Rhinestones, all cut on my Silhouette Cameo.

Here is a closer look at the flower and leaf.  I downloaded the basic leaf shape from the Silhouette Design store. To make it sturdier (to stand up well on the tv), I used the "Offset" feature to make a leaf shape mat for it to sit on.  There were flowers included in the Starter Kit, but again I wanted to play around and try and make my own.....quite successfully, I might add ;)!

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed making and designing this project.  Of course, I've saved all the files and can easily and quite quickly make another!

One word of advice from me would be that if you decide to purchase the Rhinestone Starter kit, it would be a good idea to purchase some of the extra Rhinestones that are sold, at the same time, in all the sizes.  In the starter kit there are only the "10ss" size and most of the designs need three sizes of Rhinestones!

Here are the links you'll need to purchase what I've used...

Rhinestone Leaf
Life is good quote
She turned her quote
Do small things quote
Live, Love, Laugh quote

Rhinestone Kit and Accessories - don't forget to order some extra Rhinestones in all the sizes ;)!

I hope you like my little "Rhinestone Quotes" mini album, if you do, please leave me a comment below and let me know, thanks.

Thanks for stopping by again today to take a look at what is turning out to be a Rhinestone marathon for Silhouette UK!

Happy Silhouetting.....

Fabric cutting on Silhouette Cameo & Silhouette Rhinestones

Hello Friends,

The projects I'm sharing today are to show you that you can use Silhouette Rhinestones on all sorts of  projects.

Here is a card I've made using fabric and a freebie make-up bag I've had for a while, from a well known cosmetic company, that I've decorated.....

To make the card I cut part of the Daisy image (stems and the leaves) out of the white mat layer, making way for me to "in lay" the same pieces which I'd cut out of green card.  I then cut the fabric petals from some fabric I've had hanging around for a while and stuck them on.  Before cutting the fabric I used the Silhouette heat transfer fabric interfacing, all the instructions are easy to follow and are on the packet.  I'll link to it below.

The Rhinestones were a breeze to attach with the Silhouette Rhinestone setter, they definitely like to be stuck to fabric!

For the little make-up bag, to be honest, I was a little scared to apply too much heat, as the bag is made from a plastic vinyl type of material, so I used my Multi-Matte medium from Ranger to adhere them ;)!

The files used from the Silhouette Design store are:

Rhinestone Cluster Hearts
Daisies

You can find the Silhouette products used here:

Fabric interfacing

I'll be back again tomorrow with another Rhinestone project, I have a simple mini album to share ;)!

Thanks for popping by today.

Happy Silhouetting.....

Silhouette UK, Cameo & Rhinestones

Hello Friends,

I promised I'd be back today to share another project I've made for Silhouette UK, featuring Rhinestones.

This time I've chosen this set of "pocket" type treat bags.  Those little sparkly hearts fit really nicely, don't you think?

I decided to make these to show that one file downloaded from the Silhouette Design on-line store, can be made in many sizes.  Scaling a file up in size or down is size is very easy and something I do all the time.

Here are the links to the files I've used:

Chevron Treat Bag

Rhinestone Cluster Hearts

The Silhouette products, including the Rhinestone starter kit & Setting tool, can be purchased from here!

I hope you like my little set of bags, you couldn't do this with a thin metal die or steel rule die, for that matter ;)!  You'd be stuck with one size, which is why I love my Silhouette Cameo!

I'll be back again tomorrow with another project, I promise!

Happy Silhouetting.....

UK Silhouette DT, Treat bag & Rhinestones

Hello friends,

I'm back to show a little box/bag I've made for the star gift tag to go on, the one I shared with you all the other day.

It was really easy to put together.  There are a couple of ribbon holes for the closure, which are hidden behind the star.  I chose not to use them, as I am going to have to collapse the box to post it. Instead I've used a mini bulldog clip which holds the star and closes the box in one go!  It'll certainly be easier for the person getting the set ready for the tv (if it's good enough to show on tv, that is!).

Here is another picture for you, showing the box and card together....

....I love that we can make easy coordinating projects with our Silhouette machines.

See my last post for all the links to purchase the Silhouette products needed for the Rhinestones.  The box/bag is by Lori Whitlock and is called "tall treat bag", which is available in the Silhouette America on-line store.

Be sure to check back here tomorrow for another Rhinestone project!

Happy Silhouetting.......

Silhouette Rhinestones & Silhouette UK Design Team

Hello Friends,

Little old me has some BIG news to share with you all......

.....I applied to be on the Design Team for Silhouette UK a couple of weeks ago and out of lots and lots of applications (more than 60, I believe), I was one of two ladies chosen :)!  I can't tell you all how chuffed to bits I am.  I've actually known for almost a week now and have been working away at my first assignment.

I volunteered to have a "professional" play with the Silhouette Rhinestones and have enjoyed every moment playing with them.  Don't get me wrong, there have been lots of ups & a few downs actually, whilst trying to get used to something I haven't designed with or used before but I love them!

I kept calm and took it easy on myself whilst I was learning the best ways to do what I said I'd do ;) and came up with a few projects that I'll share with you over the next few days.

I've chosen this little set to share first, it's a card and a gift tag to match.....

For this card and gift tag set, I used the Rhinestone Star cutting file which comes included in the Silhouette Rhinestone Starter Kit, along with some extra Rhinestones.  I used the Silhouette Rhinestone Setter tool to 'hot fix' the crystals.  I made the rhinestone border myself in the Silhouette software.

The greeting was written using my Silhouette Cameo, I used a pen tool and pen from my stash.  The card stock and papers are also from my stash.

I hope you like this first project of mine, designed for Silhouette UK - (still can't believe they picked me!).

Happy Silhouette crafting.
