Summer Card Camp 2 - Day 2, Week 1 (take 2)

Hello Friends,

I'm back with the card I messed up earlier, it's had a whole re-vamp!

I messed up stamping the flower on the right hand side of the card, so I chopped it off and added a sheet of acetate.  For the inside I stuck a piece of DSP over the adhesive.

I almost like this card better than the last one....that's how it works out sometimes, we call them happy accidents ;)!

Summer Card Camp 2 - Day 2, Week 1

You should see my crafting space - it's shocking!!!  I am really surprised to be posting a card today as I messed up the first card I was making and decided to "down tools"!  I sat in the sunshine enjoying a nice glass of white, calmed myself down and started again.  This is the card I made after the super inspiration from the class I enjoyed today.....

To keep in line with the class rules, I used the same colour combination as yesterday's card, adding Always Artichoke ink for the leaves and stem of the flower and Melon Mambo for the flower head.  We were shown a great way to ink up a stamp in different colours today, which is much easier than using markers!

I cut a hexagon stencil using Silhouette Stencil vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo, which I can use over and over again.

Summer Card Camp 2 - Day 1

Hello Friends,

I have been looking forward to this day for a long time because the new On-line Card Classes class started ;)!

We have been shown three sketches and a colour combo to start with......here is my first card......

....it is really simple, but I quite like it.  I knew whatever inspiration was given today, I'd make my card for a man, as I have to make one anyway to pop in the post tomorrow - no pressure!

I'm not sure if' I would have actually chosen these colours for a man, but who says men don't like bright summery colours?

I used my Silhouette software to plan the whole card, draw the dotted lines and cut all the bits - so easy!

The colours I used were Summer Star Fruit, Peach Parfait, Tempting Turquoise & Whisper White, all from Stampin' Up.

Gorgeous Grunge & Silhouette Cameo

I was going to go off to the craft show at Newbury Race course today, but instead I decided to stay home and craft with what I have.  Lately, I've been looking and buying more, than actually crafting so I set about changing that this morning.  Here are a couple of cards I made....

As you will see, these two cards are two completely different styles, but actually I made the two of them with just one cut file from my Silhouette Cameo!  

Making the two cards at the same time gave me plenty of drying time, which was needed for the second card. The inspiration for the second card came from this blog post, which I came across this morning!

I do have some Distress Inks, but they are stashed away and as I'm a nervous crafter I decided to use my old Stampin' Up pastels to colour the background, which can easily be rubbed away, as if like magic.  I also  have some of Rangers Glue and Seal, but as my Mod Podge was closer to hand so I used that to stick my flowers, before I applied the Gesso.

I used some of my original Stampin' Up markers to add colour to the flowers, Almost Amethyst for the flower heads and Sage Shadow for the leaves and stalks, but then I had to highlight them with Always Artichoke!

You can see on the background of both cards I stamped images from the Stampin' Up set called Gorgeous Grunge.  I used Always Artichoke for the first card and for the second I used Versa Mark and dabbed over Lovely Lilac pastel!

Embossing Diffuser & Best of Flowers - Stampin' Up

Hi Friends,

I've had a little delivery......in that delivery was the stamp set called Best of Flowers, which is to celebrate 25 years of Stampin' Up.

Whilst watching the tennis this afternoon, I made this little masterpiece using it.....

I used Rose Red, & Naturals White card stock for the card and mats, I use Stampin Up's Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack & Ovals Collection Framelits, which are just perfect to prick, the sentiment is from a new Stampin' Up set called Sweet Essentials and I used Stazon ink to stamp the flower and water coloured the image using the ink from my ink pads - Pretty in Pink, Rose Red & Gumball Green.
